Welcome to TwiCon 2009’s official website! We are thrilled to announce that on July 30-August 2, 2009 at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel we will host the largest conference in the United States inspired by Stephenie Meyer and the Twilight saga.

As promised, we selected the winners for our Thursday evening VIP afterparty on April 30, 2009. Click here to see if you won! Important Announcements!

Regonline, our software program for registration, has scheduled maintenance for their site during the autograph sign ups tomorrow evening. The website will be down during that time, so we will need to move our sign ups for paid autographs and photographs a few hours to Friday, July 3rd at 9am EST. An official statement from Regonline:

The RegOnline website will be unavailable, Thursday, July 2, 10PM MST - Friday, July 3, 2AM MST due to scheduled maintenance. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause for all of our attendees. We attempted to resolve the issue by requesting that they reschedule the maintenance but they are unable to do so. However, along with the new time for sign ups, we have 2 new and exciting announcements!

Christian Serratos Exclusive!

Christian Serratos will be hosting an exclusive autograph session on Friday at TwiCon! This is in addition to the Saturday autograph session. She’ll be meeting her fans and signing autographs for $16 each. You may purchase an autograph with Christian IN ADDITION TO YOUR PAID AUTOGRAPH SELECTION. This means that you will have one free autograph, one paid autograph and if you choose, another paid autograph with Christian. You can also choose to have Christian sign an autograph on Saturday at the main autograph session, but you won’t get as much personal time with her due to the larger lines. Christian’s autograph sign up will be listed as a separate Agenda item.

For the paid autograph sign ups, here’s what you need to do:

  1. Click on the Register Now button.
  2. Click Already Registered and enter your email and password. If you are part of a group, your primary registrant needs to complete sign ups on your behalf (any questions regarding how to do multiple sign ups can be directed to registration@twicon.org). Go to the Agenda page. Select Paid Autograph. You may only select one autograph. They are $16.
  3. Select the autograph of your choice and go back to Agenda.
  4. Select Christian Serratos Paid Autograph.
  5. Go to Checkout. A credit card will be required at the time of purchase, which can be the one on file or a new card, but you will need to have that card ready.
  6. You’re all set! You should receive a confirmation email. You may also log back into your account and view your Agenda items to make sure your items are visible. We suggest that if you are unsure how to log in or sign up (individually or as a group) you contact registration@twicon.org before sign ups go live to ensure that you get a timely response.

For the paid photograph sign ups:

  1. Click on the Register Now button.

Group Photos!

We will allow up to 3 people, including yourself, to participate in each photo (that’s 3 people total). Each photo costs $40, regardless of it being a group shot or single individual. The person purchasing the photo will be the ticket holder for the photo, and that person may choose 2 other people to be in the photo with them. These participants will not require a ticket, but must stay with the ticket holder at all times (don’t meet your group at the photo area...meet them beforehand and come to the photo area already assembled to avoid crowding). The ticket holder will then take their 2 participants into the photo area with them. You may participate in as many group photos as you wish, but you may only purchase one photo as the ticket holder of that photo. If you participate in more than one photo, you will need to immediately leave the photo area after each photo while waiting on your next group photo. Only one photo print (8x10) will be provided to each group if you choose to participate in a group photo. You will need to decide among the group who receives the print. When reporting to the photograph area (locations detailed in the program), you will need to report to the door of the room for the actor with which you have purchased a photo. Because the number of people in the hallways will now be much larger, we ask for your cooperation in keeping your group orderly and in line. Remember, no bags will be allowed in the photo area, and remove your badge just before your photo (but after you enter the area, because you will have to have it to get in!) so it doesn’t show in the photo! More details will be provided in Dallas at the welcoming ceremony in addition to our helpful staff being able to assist you.

Finally, the paid autographs will also mark the end of the free autograph selection. IF YOU HAVE NOT SELECTED YOUR FREE AUTOGRAPH, YOU HAVE UNTIL TOMORROW EVENING AT 9:59PM EST TO DO SO. After that time, they will no longer be available. Best of luck with your selections and we’ll see you all in Dallas in a few short weeks!

We have now contacted all media affiliates who submitted applications regarding coverage of TwiCon 2009. We have sent invitations with clearance information, as well as emails with our regrets to outlets for which we could not provide clearance. If you filled out a media application and did not receive a response of some kind, please send an email to publicity@twicon.org no later than Friday, July 3rd and we will resend your email. If you have not already filled out an application for consideration as a media professional, we unfortunately cannot consider you as a media outlet at this year’s convention. We appreciate your interest and look forward to working with you in Dallas!

June 27

Last night, our registration system temporarily experienced an outage when TwiCon registrants overloaded its capabilities while attempting to sign up for free autographs. The outage was quickly corrected, and the system restored to normal; as of 10 a.m. Saturday, June 27, registration was functioning smoothly and free autograph slots were still available for all of the special guests. We encourage fans who were unsuccessful in signing up for the free autograph to attempt their transaction again through the registration system.

June 26

Regarding tonight’s autograph sign-up: The system has experienced capacity issues -- this is not an issue in TwiCon, it is within the company hosting the registration software. Their server was unprepared for the influx of hits it recieved at the same time -- while we can prepare the twicon.org server, the registration company’s software is completely out of our hands. The server is running very slowly, but it is running. Please keep attempting to get in -- attendees are already having success, it is just at a slower speed that usual. Once in, go to your "Agenda" tab and select the radio button next to the autograph you want, and confirm at the bottom of the page. If you can’t confirm your first choice, please proceed to your second choice as if you cannot confirm it is sold out. If you can’t confirm your second choice, please proceed to your third choice, and so on.

We apologize for any delays or inconvenience, and are working to reconcile this problem with the registration server company.

As you gear up for the free autograph signing tomorrow, we want to remind our group registrants that the PRIMARY ATTENDEE (the person who registered you) needs to sign in to their registration account and sign you up for your free autograph. Alternately, the primary attendee can give you the password to their account so that you may sign in to choose your autograph. A few things to keep in mind: If you are a part of a group because you purchased someone else's registration, you probably won't know your other group members. *You need to send an email to Registration@TwiCon.org NO LATER than early Saturday morning at 12:01AM.* In the email, you will need to provide your confirmation number, full name, and top three autograph choices in order of importance. You will receive a confirmation email along with the autograph selected on Saturday morning (our team will be logging in at the opening of the sign ups, so don't worry, you'll have as much chance as everyone else to get the autograph you want). In addition, please be sure that if you are part of a group you coordinate with your primary attendee the TOP 3 CHOICES for your free autograph, in case your top choice has already been filled when the primary attendee signs you up. We recommend that primary attendees set their password to a generic one and share it with other group members to avoid any problems.

ALL REGISTRANTS PLEASE NOTE: You will need to sign up for your preferred actor as early as possible after sign ups go live Friday evening. Otherwise, you may have to select your second choice. We cannot guarantee that you will get the autograph you want; each actor only has a limited number of autographs available. However, we have set aside a limited number for purchase as well, so if you miss out on getting the free one you wanted most, then select your second choice and be ready for sign up for the paid autograph next Thursday! Details will be provided on our site next week for the paid autograph/photograph opportunities.

TwiGirl, the face of TwiCon 2009, will be joining us at TwiCon! Shannon Bayless is a fabulous working model, who is currently featured in Kohl’s junior apparel campaigns. BA Body Art, who will be performing body art services during the con, are credited for the amazing photo and art on Shannon as TwiGirl 2009. You’ll be seeing TwiGirl all over the Sheraton on our signage. She’ll be joining us Friday for photos with the fans, painted from head to foot in Twilight themed images. Photos are at no charge and will not require appointments. Simply flag her down while she’s on "display" at the BA Body Art vendor table and say cheese!

June 19

The autograph session sign ups this evening have been deferred to next Friday evening, June 26th at 11:59pm EST. During the final preparation of our registration software, we received a large amount of emails and calls from attendees who are part of a group registration that were having difficulty signing in with a separate email. In order to ensure that everyone has a fair chance at signing up for the free autograph, we need to defer the autograph sign up so we can address those individuals’ needs. For those who are registered individually, there will be no changes to the way you sign up for your free autograph (you will still need to wait until next Friday to sign up, though). Simply log in to your account and go to the Agenda page to add it to your registration. Those who are part of a group registration will need to stay tuned for important information this week on how the primary attendee will need to handle sign ups for the entire group (that means you might want to give the primary attendee of your group a heads up that he/she will be needed to handle the sign ups unless he/she is willing to give you his/her password so each individual can do it themselves). That information will be posted on our web site in the next few days. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and can assure all of our attendees that you will still be receiving your free autograph. The paid autograph and photograph session that was originally scheduled for next Friday will also be deferred, making sign ups for those available on Thursday, July 2nd at 11:59pm EST. Thank you all for your patience!

Due to many of you who have registered as a group, and in order to ensure that everyone gets an immediate opportunity to sign up for the free autograph, we have switched the sign ups from the Merchandise page of your registration to the Agenda page. You will need to sign in to your account using your email and password on the Register Now page of our web site. If you have not created a password because you are part of a group, you need to do so before you can sign up for your free autograph. To create a password, go to the Register Now page on our website, enter your email address and then click on "Don’t have a password?" You can then reset your password and retrieve it in your email. You will be allowed to add the free autograph to your Agenda upon sign in. In addition, if you do not see a particular cast member listed when you sign up, or if that cast member is unable to be selected on your screen, that means their allotted free autographs have already been reserved. Don’t worry, there will be some for purchase during the next round of sign ups based on availability, but you’ll need to be ready to purchase yours right away! Note: Christian Serratos will only be available for purchased autographs. Fandom guests and musical guests are not part of the autograph sign up sessions (you’ll most likely get lots of autographs from our fandom celebs). As a reminder, sign ups for the free autograph are this Friday, June 19th at 11:59pm EST. Sign ups for the paid autograph and photographs will be next Friday, June 26th at 11:59pm EST. We’re pleased to release the first copy of the TwiCon 2009 event and programming schedules! Endless thanks to Formal Programming Chair Maggie Parke, Informal Programming Chair Danylle Utley, and Production Manager Kara O’Grady for the countless hours they contributed to the programming and scheduling.

You will see three links below. The first is for the general schedule for the convention. The second is for the schedule of the multiple break-out sessions we will be offering on Friday. The third is a summary of those break-out sessions and other programming we will be offering at TwiCon 2009. While these documents are mainly complete, they are a first release and may contain small errors (we welcome your corrections, directed to becka@twicon.org), or slight differences from the information you will read in your printed program on-site. Your on-site program takes precedent, however, we do not expect significant variation from these documents. Enjoy planning your days at TwiCon 2009, and we look forward to seeing you in Dallas!

We are happy to announce that Kellan’s scheduled appearance times have NOT changed. There was a conflict that might have prevented his arrival on Saturday but it has since been resolved. So don’t worry! He’ll be there! But make sure you get your chance to see him by signing up for the Photograph session, Saturday 10am-11am, while tickets are still available.

June 9

Announcement for Cast Autograph/Photograph opportunities:

Attention all Twihards! TwiCon’s autograph and photograph opportunities with the cast of the Twilight and New Moon movies will be going on sale! Here’s how they will work:

Autographs: Autographs for each attending cast member will be available for reservation on Friday, June 19, at 11:59pm EST. Each attendee can sign up for one free autograph at that time. To reserve your free autograph, login to your registration account and go to the Agenda section. You will only be given the option of selecting one cast member. Don’t worry; once everyone has had time to select their free autograph, we’ll be offering autographs for sale for those cast members who have more time and autographs available.

Christian Serratos will be offering for-sale autographs only, but that also means you are almost guaranteed at least one additional paid autograph (unless she sells out, of course). The sale of the remaining autographs will begin Friday, June 26 at 11:59pm EST. At that time, you may login to your account and see who is still available. If you don’t see a cast member’s name, it means they are sold out. Autographs for purchase will be $16 each - which includes a headshot photo of your selected cast member. Again, you’ll be given only one option to choose from due to the number of attendees versus the number of autographs available. Start thinking about your choices and be ready to sign up at the time reservations are available.

The autograph session will operate as follows:

Times and location of the autographing session, along with the time attendees may begin lining up, will be included in your program upon check-in at the registration desk. Organized lines will be formed for the cast in order to minimize wait time. Each attendee will be given color-coded tickets that represent the cast member from which they will be receiving an autograph. The ticket will be handed to the cast member’s handler along with your item to be autographed (see below for restrictions). The cast member will sign your item and the handler will hand it back to you. You will then need to move along to your second autograph, if you have one, as quickly as possible. You’ll be directed by the TwiCon staff in the autographing area about where to go. Autographs are non-transferrable and non-refundable.

Restrictions: You may not take posed pictures with the cast or ask the cast for hugs, kisses, etc. You may not give gifts, cards or packages to the cast at any time during the conference. You may only present a book, picture, small poster or other similar paper item to the cast to be autographed (i.e. no shirts, bags, body parts or other unusual objects). Personalization of autographs is not possible due to time constraints. Please be considerate that the line behind you will be quite long and it is imperative to keep it moving quickly. If you linger with the cast member signing your item, his or her handler will not hesitate to move you along.

Photographs:

We are pleased to offer a fantastic opportunity to have your picture taken with a Twilight/New Moon cast member by a professional photographer. Photographs will be available for purchase on Friday, June 26, at 11:59pm EST. You will need to login to your registration account and select the cast member of your choice in the Merchandise section. There are only 65 photographs available per cast member. For that reason, only one photograph is available per attendee. As with all other add-on events at TwiCon, you must be paid in full to purchase a photograph with the cast. Photographs with a cast member are $40 each and include a high quality, professional 8x10 color print. They will be printed the same day and you may use them for the autograph session later in the day. Photographs are non-transferrable and non-refundable.

Restrictions: Remember to take off your badge just before you have your picture taken (but do bring it with you, as you will still need to show your badge to be admitted into the photographing rooms). As with the autograph session, you may not present gifts to the cast, and you may not ask for hugs, kisses, marriage, etc. These requests only make the cast uncomfortable and are unfair to expect from them. You may not bring bags into the photography room. There will be a secure holding area where you may leave any bags you have until your photo is taken, which will take about 30 seconds. You may not bring cameras into the photography room, no exceptions. Do not linger in the photographing area, as there are people that will be waiting behind you.

TwiCon is officially accepting applications for the Journalism Team. If you have any experience in photography, videography, or journalism you should consider applying to be a part of our Journalism Team! This group of volunteers will get an all-access pass to the inside of TwiCon 2009 on all events, everyday, and will be responsible for posting the coverage on our Web site for all to see. The coffee chat with Jackson Rathbone has sold out. If you still want to see Jackson live, be sure to pick up your tickets to the 100 Monkeys concert; there are still some available!

May 20

Beginning today, May 20 partial payments for TwiCon registration will no longer be accepted. Full registration payment will be required to secure your spot at the conference. If you have already registered using the payment plan, this does not affect your deadline for final payment. For those who used PayPal as payment, you will need to log in to your registration and make your final payment. Due to PayPal’s system structure, we are unable to withdraw funds automatically. If you have a credit card on file, we will automatically deduct your final payment. Hurry and register now! We don’t have many registrations left!

May 15

Jackson’s exclusive event tickets will go on sale tonight at 11:59pm EST. Don’t forget to be ready to purchase your ticket! As already stated, only one ticket is available per attendee. You’ll need to sign in to your account and purchase your ticket under the Merchandise tab of your registration. Remember, if your registration is not paid in full you are not eligible for the event. We have a very limited number of tickets and we anticipate selling out within hours, so don’t wait! Be ready at 11:59pm EST!

May 14

Due to some technical difficulty during the live launch of the 100 Monkeys ticket sales, we have switched the place for ticket purchase from AGENDA to MERCHANDISE in your registration account. If you have already purchased a ticket, this WILL NOT AFFECT YOU. However, those wishing to purchase more than one ticket on the first night of sales weren’t able to do so and we have now corrected the issue. You may log back into your account at any time to purchase more tickets. All current terms and regulations regarding the concert still apply. We apologize for any inconvenience!

Exclusive TwiCon Event With Jackson Rathbone!

For the first time at any conference anywhere, Jackson Rathbone will be offering an intimate and personal chat session at TwiCon 2009! On Sunday, August 2nd from 10am-12pm, Jackson will join 500 fans for coffee, questions and answers, and possibly even an acoustic song or two. It’s all about getting to know Jackson better, so he’ll be taking questions directly from fans, as well as giving 25 lucky attendees some face time by personalizing memorabilia (to be provided by the attendee) on stage in front of the audience! Here’s how the event will work:

Fans will be seated banquet-style after grabbing a cup of coffee (provided). During this time, screened questions will be gathered from the audience by TwiCon staff. Each table with an approved question will receive a numbered card, which indicates the order of the questions to be asked. The attendee designated by that table will stand and ask their approved question when it is their turn. Jackson will be casually seated on stage and has graciously welcomed the opportunity to give the fans a closer peek into his life, so we ask in advance that the screaming be kept to a minimum during the Q&A as a respectful gesture to Jackson. We will allow attendees 2-3 minutes for flash photography upon his entrance, but photography without flash will be allowed at any time. All attendees must be seated unless standing for a question or if they are chosen as a winner for face time with Jackson (there will be no information given on how to win until the event begins!). Fans may ask questions of a somewhat personal nature, but remember that these questions will be screened and any inappropriate questions (boxers or briefs is not appropriate!) asked that were not approved will constitute immediate ejection from the event. So be sure the question we screen is the question you ask! After the Q&A, Jackson may or may not perform a song or two alone on stage. When winners are selected to greet Jackson on stage, they will be asked to bring the item they would like signed on stage with them, give a brief introduction and Jackson will then sign and personalize the memorabilia for them. The winner will then leave the stage and the next winner will go up.

Interested?

Tickets for Jackson’s exclusive coffee chat are $25 each. There are only 500 tickets available. Tickets will be available for purchase through your TwiCon registration account on Friday, May 15th at 11:59pm EST. Each registrant is limited to one ticket and you’ll need to enter your credit card information so have it handy (regardless of if you already have one on file). If you are registered in a group, you may purchase one ticket for each group attendee. As with all of our events, you must be fully registered and paid in full to be eligible for this event, and tickets are non-refundable and non-transferrable. A waitlist will be created after tickets have sold out; an announcement will be made on our site at that time. Start thinking about what you’d like to know about the one and only Jackson Rathbone!

The following attendees have won tickets to our VIP After Party event on Thursday afternoon! The drawing was by random selection. There were a select number of attendees chosen that were part of group registrations. In those cases, the group was selected in its entirety. We congratulate our winners! A ticket will be included in your registration packet information upon check in that will allow you access to our party. If you weren’t selected, worry not. There will be many other fun opportunities in store for you as well. See you there!

As we gear up for live ticket sales for the 100 Monkeys concert, we want to let our attendees know that you will be required to re-enter your credit card information (to ensure that group registrants or those with outdated cards on file are able to purchase!) for purchase of paid ticketed events, so please make sure you have your credit card handy at the time of purchase. We also want to let everyone know that on Saturday, May 2nd at 9am EST, we’ll be making another important announcement that you won’t want to miss. And no, it’s not the autographing and photographing sign ups (that will be coming very soon, though!)...it’s another surprise, so stay tuned!

Updates from TwiCon!

Due to increased submissions, we have posted an official closing date of May 1 for all CFP’s -- if you have an idea, click on the link in the sidebar to submit it before it’s too late!

Please note: Fansites & YouTubers are still subject to TwiCon 2009’s press policies in regards to video and photo acquisition and distribution. Looking forward to finally meeitng up and chatting with your internet friends? Fansite meet-up rooms are the place to do it! We have opened up 3 of our break-out rooms for fansites to sign up for a time to hang out and chat! We have 2 rooms that hold 30 people and one room that holds 70 people, so tally up your friends and email publicity@twicon.org for available time slots -- time slots are Friday 10 am to 12 pm, Friday 1:30 to 3:00 and 3:30 to 5, and Saturday 10 am to 12 pm. A schedule of fansites and their rooms will be posted as the slots fill up.

TwiCon welcomes 100 Monkeys to the roster of talented musicians who will be joining us this summer! If you’ve been hiding under a rock, you might not know that Jackson Rathbone is a member of this fun and funky group that specializes in improv music that will blow you away! The band will be performing a full live set on Friday, July 31st at the Sheraton. Tickets are available to TwiCon registrants at $20 per person. Tickets will be available for sale on May 1st at 11:59pm EST. To purchase tickets, log in to your TwiCon registration and add the number of tickets you would like to purchase to your Agenda. Tickets are not limited to TwiCon attendees, so if you have friends who are unable to attend TwiCon, they can still come out and enjoy a live concert by 100 Monkeys! Don’t forget to grab them on May 1st before they are gone!

TwiCon welcomes musical guests Thomas and Taylor Turner! They will be accompanying The Bella Cullen Project on stage to perform their single Alive, along with a few other originals. New to the Twilight community, Thomas and Taylor recently re-recorded Alive with The Bella Cullen Project after the girls heard the lyrics, which reminded them of New Moon.
